Heather Cortelyou

Equine Cares Coordinator (MC)

Heather always had a love of animals and started volunteering at Reins of Life at age 13 after hearing about it from her sister. She always wanted to work with animals so getting the opportunity to work with horses was a dream come true. She has helped in all areas, and in 2021 was hired as the Equine Care Coordinator for the Michigan City barn. One of her favorite parts of being involved with Reins is the opportunity to learn more about the horses and people, as well as being able to help both the riders and horses to progress and work together as a team to achieve their goals. Heather is also a full-time college student, a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor in training, and a part-time caregiver.
