Beth Cortelyou
Volunteer Coordinator & Feeder Coordinator
(Michigan City)
As a young adult, Beth worked with adults with physical and/or mental disabilities, serving them as they developed life and work skills. When her first child was born, she quit her job, and later she home educated her three girls. She and her daughters volunteered at many different places over the years, and they started at Reins of Life when the youngest, Heather, turned 13.
After volunteering at Reins for three years, she was asked to participate in the AmeriCorps program as the Special Programs Coordinator in Michigan City. After the year-long AmeriCorps term, Beth was hired as the Volunteer Coordinator, and in 2024 she became a certified Equine Specialist in Mental Health & Learning.
