Brenda came to Reins of Life via a newspaper article written about the facility in Michigan City that was also advertising “New Volunteer Training.” She has had a lifelong love of horses, and it was an immediate decision to attend the training in early 2009. She has been with Reins ever since volunteering in many different ways; from side walker, horse feeder, and horse leader during classes to her current position as Assistant Barn Manager at the Michigan City location. She currently assists Barn Manager and Instructor Amanda and other feeders with caring for the 15 horses, ponies, mini horse and donkey. Her love of horses brought her to Reins. However, working with the riders is the biggest bonus when asked what she likes best about us. For those who are interested, Brenda also assists with the training of the new volunteer feeders. Feeding takes place at the Michigan City facility twice daily, 365 days a year whether sunshine, rain, or snow!
