  • What is Reins of Life at Royal Acres?

Royal Acres was donated to Reins of Life on June 14, 2007. The $1.8M facility, located in Michigan City, was given to Reins by a Chicago couple for use as a therapeutic riding center. The 46 acre property includes a 16 stall horse barn equipped with automatic waterers, 70' x 200' indoor and outdoor arenas, 4 spacious pastures, a round exercise pen, wooded riding trails with creeks, bridges, and jumps. A lounge overlooks the arena.

This generous donation allows Reins of Life to offer its outstanding services to disabled individuals in LaPorte County, where there was previously no therapeutic riding center.

In addition to therapeutic riding sessions, the facility will be open for private riding lessons. For details on therapeutic riding lessons or private riding lessons, click on the following links:

  • "I would like to thank you for you help. It has helped both of my children in so many ways. Celina's self-esteem is getting better and better. This is something she can do and other kids will not make fun of her. Reins has helped with Tyler's behavior. He is starting to slow down and follow directions better. His sensory issues have improved. Reins of Life is the best thing to help my kids. Thank you so much."
