"My daughter is 2 and a new rider. The instructor and volunteers make her comfortable. The interaction with a great animal that builds a bond with her gives her the confidence to be comfortable with other tasks. It carries over to other skills we're working on at home. But the most important improvement is that she has improved more physically in 4 weeks of riding than in 8 months of physical therapy. Her orthopedic doctor at Riley Hospital, who had originally recommended therapeutic horseback riding, was going to do surgery for her hip dysplasia. Now he says she may never need it."
